Bucket Components

A bucket consists of several components: the bucket back, bucket sides, bottom plate, cutting edge, and bucket teeth. As any operator knows, rock is the most abrasive to a bucket. Some drivers often leave scratches on their buckets when using brute force to shovel rock. In a gravel quarry, the ore is not uniform in size. Up to 30% of the ore is mixed in with the pile, like powder. After prolonged operation and friction, the bucket teeth and side plates can be severely damaged. Bucket Reinforcement

Remove all existing bucket teeth and install new ones. In the gap between each tooth, a steel plate is welded to the front, parallel to the tooth. The principle is simple: the new teeth are longer than the welded plate. When working for a certain period of time, when the tooth heads are flush with the plate, the material is shoveled with force and friction simultaneously between the teeth and the plate. This way, adding a steel plate is a small undertaking, yet it kills two birds with one stone.

Bucket Replacement

1. When striking the pin with a hammer, metal chips may fly into your eyes, causing serious injury. Always wear goggles, a hard hat, a helmet, and other protective gear when performing this operation. Ensure personal safety before proceeding to the next step.

2. When removing the bucket, position it securely.

3. Hitting the pin with force may cause it to fly and injure nearby personnel.

4. When removing the pin, be especially careful not to stand under the bucket or place your feet or any other part of your body under it. Be careful not to injure your hands when removing or installing the pin.

5. When aligning the hole, do not place your fingers in the pin hole.

6. Before changing the bucket, park the machine on firm, level ground. For safety reasons, ensure you and the oil pipe operator clearly communicate and work carefully.
